Ryler's Fabulous Make-You-Sick No-Bake Cookies

Ryler made some snacks for a family vacation.  These are the type of cookies that you eat until you're sick.  It even says so in the recipe.

Chocolate-Peanut Butter No-Bake Cookies!

In a saucepan, mix:
2 c. sugar
1/2 t. salt
1/2 c. milk

Add:
1/2 c. butter (1 cube)
Place over medium heat.
Bring to a boil while stirring constantly, melting butter completely.

Remove from heat and stir in:
1 t. vanilla

Add:
1 c. peanut butter
2 T. cocoa powder (optional, but why?)
OR
3/4 c. peanut butter
1/4 c. Nutella (oh, yeah!)

Add:
3-1/2 c. oatmeal

Stir well.  Allow ingredients to cool in refrigerator until consistency will stay together.  Use a small ice cream scoop and drop on parchment-lined cookie sheet.  Refrigerate to set up, then eat until sick!

Bite-sized goodness.

Ryler's Amazing, Awesome Valentine's Day Surprise

Ryler made Waffles for Lauren on Valentine's Day.  ♥♥♥

And re-folded some of the origami paper cranes leftover from the wedding reception into these...

Dad's Sunday Morning Special Deluxe
Whole Wheat Waffles
Sift together:
1-1/4 c. white flour
1-1/4 c. whole wheat flour
4 t. baking powder
1 t. salt
2 T. sugar

In a separate bowl, combine:
2-1/2 c. milk
(or use 1/2 c. powdered milk with 2-1/2 c. water)
1/2 c. oil
4 egg yolks
Add to dry ingredients.

Beat until stiff:
4 egg whites
Gently fold into batter.

Cook in a waffle iron. Serve topped with butter or peanut butter and homemade maple syrup.

Homemade Maple Syrup
Stir together and bring to a boil:
1 c. water
1 c. sugar
Remove from heat, then add:
1/4 t. imitation maple flavoring

Our family likes a thinner syrup, but you can add up to another cup of sugar if you like it thick and sticky.

LOVE.
Lauren
