Around here, we all spin through the driveway like it's a revolving door. That being said, we are mostly home for dinner. And we take turns in the kitchen. And on Valentine's day, when we had all landed back home for the evening, the Dad had made Sugar Cookies.
BEST. COOKIES. EVER! Especially after slathering on the cream cheese frosting. And don't forget the sprinkles.
Prize-Winning Sugar Cookies
Cream together:
1 cup butter
2 cups sugar
Add:
2 T. cream
4 eggs
1 t. vanilla
In a separate bowl, mix together:
4-1/8 t. baking powder
1 t. salt
4 c. flour
Combine with creamed mixture. Refrigerate dough for 1 hour.
On a well-floured surface, roll out dough about 1/4" to 3/4" thick Cut out with cookie cutters. Place 1" apart on parchment-lined baking sheet, then bake at 400-degrees for 5 to 6 minutes until barely cooked through. Place cookies immediately on cooling rack. When cooled, frost with Cream Cheese Frosting and decorate. Might as well make a double batch, because you'll eat the first batch by yourself.
Cream Cheese Frosting
Combine and beat until creamy:
8-oz brick cream cheese, softened
1/4 c. softened butter
1/2 t. vanilla
1 lb. powdered sugar
